Recent Knesset polls reflect trader consensus favoring Benjamin Netanyahu as the next prime minister after the election due by October 2026, with his Likud party consistently polling 24-28 seats and personal preference surveys showing him ahead at 44-53% against challengers. A March 19 Channel 12 poll marked a shift as Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party overtook Naftali Bennett's list (16 vs. 15 seats), positioning Eisenkot as Netanyahu's top rival and elevating his market share amid his security credentials. Bennett remains a strong centrist alternative despite the slip, while blocs hover near deadlock at 50-52 seats each, underscoring coalition negotiations as pivotal. The Iran war has failed to boost Netanyahu significantly, with polls stable as he pushes budget passage to avert snap elections.
