Péter Magyar's TISZA party leads recent national polls by 8–12 points over Viktor Orbán's Fidesz ahead of Hungary's 2026 parliamentary election, driving trader consensus to price him as the likely next prime minister at 63.5%. This momentum stems from TISZA's strong showing in June's European Parliament vote, where it captured nearly 30% amid anti-corruption backlash against Orbán, amplified by October polls from Median and Závecz Research confirming the gap. Orbán holds at 35.5% as a resilient incumbent with loyal rural and older voter bases, despite scandals like the pardon affair involving allies. Fringe figures like László Toroczkai garner minimal support from far-right voters, while upcoming local elections and potential opposition unity talks could further shift odds.
