Trader consensus favors former President Rumen Radev at 70.5% to become Bulgaria's next prime minister after the April 19, 2026, snap parliamentary elections—the eighth since 2021—driven by his Progressive Bulgaria alliance's consistent poll lead of 27-31% in recent Alpha Research and Gallup surveys, positioning it for the first exploratory mandate from President Iliyana Yotova. Assen Vassilev of We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria trails at around 11% in polls, reflecting his coalition's anti-corruption stance amid ongoing voter fatigue from instability, explaining his 19.8% odds. Caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov holds 8.5% as his technocratic administration oversees what he calls the "cleanest elections in years," despite vote-buying seizures and EU aid requests against Russian interference; a fragmented parliament likely requires coalition talks post-vote.
