Final official results from Bulgaria's April 19 parliamentary election confirm GERB-SDS secured 39 seats in the 240-member National Assembly under proportional representation, propelling trader consensus to 99.5% implied probability for under 50 seats. Progressive Bulgaria's landslide 44.6% vote share yielded 131 seats—the first single-party absolute majority in decades—fueled by 50.2% turnout and voter shifts away from established parties like GERB-SDS, which plummeted from prior strongholds amid ongoing snap election cycles. With over 98% of votes counted, the commanding position reflects certified Central Election Commission tallies; realistic challenges would require anomalies in remaining precincts, recounts, or legal disputes, which traders deem improbable.
