Trader consensus on Strait of Hormuz ship transits for March 17-23 centers on 40-44 vessels at 28.7% implied probability, closely trailed by 45+ at 24.5%, reflecting steady maritime flows despite persistent Iran-U.S. tensions and Red Sea disruptions. Recent AIS data from marine trackers indicates daily averages of 6-7 tankers and bulk carriers, aligning with historical weekly norms of 40-50 amid no new seizures or blockades reported this week. The tight race persists due to consistent patterns without major catalysts like IRGC interdictions or Gulf weather anomalies. Separation could arise from late-week Iranian naval maneuvers, U.S. Fifth Fleet deployments, or unexpected vessel rerouting, with final counts tracked via real-time shipping intelligence.
