Incumbent Republican Rep. Jeff Van Drew, unopposed in the June 2 primary, anchors trader consensus favoring the GOP at heavy odds in New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District, rated Solid Republican by Cook Political Report due to its Trump +13 partisan lean. The March 23 filing deadline confirmed a fragmented Democratic primary field of five challengers—Tim Alexander, Bayly Winder (top fundraiser with $231,000 cash on hand), Zack Mullock, Terri Reese, and Bill Finn—lacking a clear frontrunner and facing Van Drew's $1.18 million war chest. No polls yet, but historical incumbent strength and South Jersey conservatism position Republicans strongly ahead of the November 3 general election, barring a national Democratic wave.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
