Incumbent Republican David Rouzer secured his party's nomination in the March 2026 primary with over 80 percent of the vote in North Carolina's 7th congressional district. The seat carries a Republican-leaning partisan voting index and was further strengthened by the state's October 2025 congressional redistricting. Democrat Kimberly Hardy advanced as the sole candidate in her primary. Forecasters rate the general election contest as solidly Republican ahead of the November 3, 2026, ballot. These structural and electoral factors underpin the current trader consensus favoring the Republican Party outcome.
