Freedom Movement (GS), led by incumbent Prime Minister Robert Golob, secured a razor-thin plurality with 29 seats to the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS)'s 28 in Slovenia's March 22 parliamentary election under proportional representation, as confirmed by tallies exceeding 99% of votes counted. This photo-finish outcome, amid a fragmented National Assembly where no party reached a majority, has solidified trader consensus on GS as the election winner by most seats, reflecting the wisdom of crowds in skin-in-the-game pricing. Pre-election polls showed a tight race overshadowed by an alleged espionage scandal, but final results favored GS's centre-left coalition potential. Only an improbable recount reversal or procedural challenge could shift this, with coalition negotiations now underway to form a majority government.
