Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovenia on March 22, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially elected by the National Assembly (Državni zbor) and sworn in as Prime Minister of Slovenia following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally sworn in. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister is sworn in by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Slovenia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Incumbent Prime Minister Robert Golob's Freedom Movement secured a narrow plurality in Slovenia's March 22 parliamentary election, winning 29 seats in the 90-seat National Assembly compared to Janez Janša's Slovenian Democratic Party's 28 seats under proportional representation. This razor-thin margin, amid pre-election polls showing a dead heat and a corruption scandal dogging Golob's campaign, has traders pricing him at 71% implied probability to retain the premiership through coalition formation. Golob launched broad coalition talks on March 27, urged by President Nataša Pirc Musar, leveraging incumbency and first-mandate advantage, while Janša holds 20% as a strong challenger reliant on kingmaker smaller parties. Anže Logar and Vladimir Prebilič trail with minimal seats and coalition leverage.
