Trader consensus on Polymarket strongly favors Beinir Johannesen at 66.5% implied probability to become the next Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands, driven by his Union Party securing the most seats (9 of 33) in the April 29, 2024, parliamentary election. As the largest bloc, Johannesen leads coalition talks with Progress (led by Jenis av Rana) and Centre (Ruth Vang), needing 17 seats for a majority. Incumbent Aksel V. Johannesen's Social Democrats hold 7 seats, positioning him as a distant second at 19.5% amid failed re-election bid. Recent developments include advanced negotiations announced last week, with no agreement yet, heightening uncertainty ahead of potential Logting votes. Smaller parties like People's (Bárður á Steig Nielsen) and Republicans (Høgni Hoydal) trail due to limited coalition appeal.
