Final official results from Slovenia's March 22 parliamentary election, held under proportional representation for the 90-seat National Assembly, confirm Prime Minister Robert Golob's Freedom Movement (GS) as the largest party with 29 seats and 28.63% of the vote, narrowly ahead of Janez Janša's Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS) at 28 seats and 27.95%—the closest margin in history. This outcome, verified by the State Election Commission, drives trader consensus implying over 99% probability for GS as winner, reflecting the stability of certified tallies amid 69.45% turnout. A hung parliament necessitates coalition negotiations for a 46-seat majority, but the single-party plurality remains secure barring unprecedented legal challenges or recounts, none of which have emerged.
