Polymarket traders assign a 98% implied probability to fewer than 3.0 million TSA checkpoint passengers on April 4, reflecting strong consensus driven by persistent sub-3 million daily throughputs amid a prolonged DHS government shutdown. Latest data shows April 1 at 2.36 million (-10% YoY), March 31 at 2.15 million, and a recent peak of 2.76 million on March 29, with averages around 2.45 million as staffing shortages—over 450 officer quits and 11% absenteeism—trigger multi-hour security lines, curbing demand. This Saturday before Easter Sunday could see modest weekend uplift, but shutdown chaos dominates; realistic challenges include sudden funding resolution or outsized holiday travel surge breaching recent highs.
