Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.7 recently achieved 43.8% on FrontierMath Tiers 1-4—a rigorous benchmark of hundreds of expert-vetted, unpublished math problems spanning undergraduate to research frontiers—edging up from Opus 4.6's 40.7% and demonstrating logarithmic gains from extended reasoning tokens. This keeps pace in the fierce rivalry with OpenAI's GPT-5.4 Pro at 50%, fueling trader optimism amid Anthropic's accelerated release cadence. Claude 5, slated for Q2-Q3 2026, represents the key catalyst that could surpass 50% before June 30, though evolving evals and safety constraints on preview models like Mythos add uncertainty to frontier AI math capabilities.
