Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market. In New Jersey's 12th Congressional District Democratic primary to replace retiring Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, trader consensus favors state Assemblymember Verlina Reynolds-Jackson at 34.5% implied probability, narrowly ahead of Plainsboro Mayor Brad Cohen at 32.5%, reflecting tight recent polling from Emerson College showing her at 22% to his 17% in a fragmented field. Reynolds-Jackson's edge stems from endorsements by EMILY's List, the New Jersey Working Families Party, and Watson Coleman herself, bolstering progressive support, while Cohen's superior fundraising—exceeding $1 million—appeals to moderates. Councilwoman Susan Altman's 22.5% share draws from local name recognition. With the June 4 primary looming, late voter turnout efforts, additional endorsements, or district-wide absentee ballot trends could tip the balance in this closely contested open-seat race.
