Incumbent Republican Trent Kelly secured the nomination unopposed in the March 10 primary for Mississippi's 1st Congressional District, a solidly Republican seat with a Cook PVI of R+18, reinforcing trader consensus at 92.5% for a GOP hold. Kelly, who won his 2024 reelection by 40 points and prior races by similar margins, holds a commanding fundraising edge with over $700,000 cash on hand versus Democrat Cliff Johnson's $65,000 after his 64% Democratic primary win. The district's consistent Republican dominance and lack of competitive polling underpin the lopsided odds, though late scandals, health events, or a national Democratic midterm wave could narrow the path. General election set for November 3, 2026.
