Trader consensus favors Democrats at 67% to win Virginia's 1st Congressional District House seat, driven primarily by anticipation of a Democratic-proposed congressional redistricting map that would transform VA-01 into a competitive or favorable district. The constitutional amendment enabling legislative redistricting advanced by Democrats post-2025 elections—where Gov. Abigail Spanberger carried the district—heads to a special April 21 vote, with prediction markets implying 76-85% passage odds despite recent early voting surges in Republican-leaning areas urging a "no" vote. Incumbent Rep. Rob Wittman (R) seeks reelection amid a crowded Democratic primary field, while Cook Political Report rates it Lean Republican under current lines. Filing deadline looms May 26 ahead of summer primaries and the November general.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
