Incumbent Republican Sen. Jim Risch's commanding position in early polling, leading independent challenger Todd Achilles 48%-34% in the latest New York Times survey released April 2, underscores trader consensus favoring a GOP victory at 91.5% odds in Idaho's safely Republican U.S. Senate race. Idaho has elected only Republicans to the Senate since 1981, bolstered by the state's strong GOP incumbency advantage, Risch's $3.5 million fundraising haul, and endorsements including from former President Trump. Recent candidate filings on February 27 introduced primary challenger Josh Roy but no competitive Democratic contender, cementing the partisan tilt ahead of the May Republican primary. While barriers remain high, a Risch scandal, health event given his age 83, or independent surge could shift dynamics before November's general election.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
