Trader consensus heavily favors the Democratic Party at 92% implied probability in Maryland's 4th congressional district House race, driven by the district's strong Democratic lean (D+25 Cook PVI) and incumbent Rep. Glenn Ivey's dominant position after an unopposed primary. Ivey's 2022 victory margin exceeded 33 points, bolstered by robust fundraising and the district's diverse, urban-suburban demographics in Prince George's County, where Democrats consistently capture over 65% of the vote. Republican nominee Charles E. Carroll IV faces steep historical odds with minimal polling competition or momentum. Realistic challenges include a major Democratic scandal, anomalous GOP turnout surge, or national Republican wave effects, though none have materialized ahead of the November general election.
