The U.S. Supreme Court's April 6 order vacated a D.C. Circuit ruling upholding Steve Bannon's 2022 contempt of Congress conviction, clearing the path for the Trump Department of Justice to seek dismissal after Bannon served his four-month sentence in 2024. Although DOJ prosecutors promptly filed a motion to dismiss the criminal case in D.C. district court, no ruling has issued as of mid-April, with procedural steps and judicial scheduling creating uncertainty ahead of the April 30 deadline. Traders' 84.5% consensus on "No" reflects skepticism over timely resolution, prioritizing court timelines over the favorable Supreme Court development despite the administration's intent to erase the conviction from the record.

This market will resolve to “Yes” if Bannon’s 2022 Contempt of Congress conviction is dismissed, overturned, vacated, or otherwise reversed by the listed date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”.
A qualifying reversal requires that a United States court or other competent legal authority formally nullify the conviction itself. The vacating of appellate rulings, procedural actions toward reconsideration, or other changes which do not themselves result in the nullification of the conviction, will not alone count.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from relevant courts; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
