This positioning stems from a warming trend following a cool weekend, driven by a building high-pressure ridge aloft promoting subsidence warming and light southeast winds advecting moist, mild air from the Gulf of Mexico—conditions favoring above-normal late-March temperatures (climatological average ~65°F). Differentiating factors include timing of partial cloudiness, which could limit peak insolation to cap at 72-73°F, versus clearer afternoon skies pushing toward 75°F per model ensembles like the High-Resolution Rapid Refresh. New hourly observations and afternoon forecast updates from NOAA will refine trader sentiment as diurnal heating progresses.
