US and Israeli forces launched major airstrikes against Iran on February 28, 2026, targeting ballistic missile sites, nuclear facilities, and leadership—including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei—initiating an ongoing conflict now over a month old, with more than 10,000 US strikes and 600+ Israeli operations degrading Iran's capabilities. Gulf states including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait have conducted missile defense against Iranian retaliatory attacks on their territories and US bases. In the past week, the US delivered a 15-point diplomatic proposal via Pakistan on March 24 to end the war, which Iran is reviewing amid continued airstrikes; no new countries have joined offensive actions in the last 48 hours, though ground operation preparations are reported. Traders watch for any escalation or final strikes before the March 31 deadline.

For the purposes of this market, a qualifying "strike" is defined as the use of aerial bombs, drones, or missiles (including cruise or ballistic missiles) launched by the listed country's military forces that impact Iranian ground territory or any official Iranian embassy or consulate (e.g., if a weapons depot on Iranian soil is hit by a missile launched by the listed country, this market will resolve to "Yes").
Missiles or drones which are intercepted and surface-to-air missile strikes will not be sufficient for a "Yes" resolution regardless of whether they land on Iranian territory or cause damage.
Actions such as artillery fire, small arms fire, FPV or ATGM strikes directly, ground incursions, naval shelling, cyberattacks, or other operations conducted by ground operatives of the listed country will not qualify.
The resolution source will be a consensus of credible reporting.
