Trader consensus on Polymarket prices a 97% implied probability for fewer than 3.0 million TSA checkpoint passengers on April 4, driven by recent screening volumes consistently below this threshold amid spring break's tail end and ongoing government shutdown disruptions. Official TSA data shows April 1 at 2.36 million, March 31 at 2.15 million, and March 29 at 2.76 million—levels reflecting a 12% year-over-year decline per MacroMicro metrics, exacerbated by TSA staffing shortages causing checkpoint closures and multi-hour lines that deter travel. This skin-in-the-game sentiment underscores subdued demand post-Good Friday chaos, with average daily projections around 2.8 million unfulfilled lately. A realistic challenge would require an unforeseen Easter weekend surge or shutdown resolution boosting flight volumes significantly above recent trends.
