The Democratic Party's commanding 91.5% implied probability in the NJ-12 House race reflects the district's strong Democratic leanings, evidenced by Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman's consistent 20+ point margins in recent cycles and a partisan voter index around D+6, bolstered by heavy Democratic registration advantages in Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset counties. Following the March 23 filing deadline, a crowded 13-candidate Democratic primary features county endorsements for contenders like Brad Cohen (Middlesex) and Verlina Reynolds-Jackson (Mercer), while frontrunner Sue Altman survived petition challenges on March 31; Republicans appear locked in with perennial candidate Gregg Mele, who has raised under $50,000. Absent public polling, trader consensus anticipates a Democratic nominee prevailing easily in November barring a scandal-plagued primary outcome on June 2, nominee implosion, or robust national Republican midterm momentum.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
