Official results from Slovenia's March 22, 2026, parliamentary election confirm Prime Minister Robert Golob's Freedom Movement (GS) as the largest party, capturing 29 seats in the 90-seat National Assembly on 28.63% of the vote under proportional representation—edging out Janez Janša's Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS) with 28 seats and 27.95%. The State Election Commission's final tallies, with all ballots counted, underpin trader consensus on GS's plurality victory despite the razor-thin margin. Coalition negotiations now shape government formation in this hung parliament, but GS's lead holds firm absent successful legal challenges over minor early-voting irregularities alleged by opposition groups. Late-breaking court rulings or recounts could theoretically shift seats, though none appear imminent.
