In Colorado's 4th Congressional District House race, trader consensus tilts slightly toward the Republican Party at 48%, with Democrats at 44%, capturing the battleground dynamics of this open seat left by retiring GOP Rep. Ken Buck. The district's Republican lean—evident in Trump's 13-point 2020 win and a Cook Partisan Voter Index of R+6—is tempered by Democrat Trisha Calvarese's fundraising edge, outpacing GOP nominee Greg Lopez, and aggressive ad buys targeting rural voters on agriculture, water rights, and energy issues. Recent RMG Research polling (late October) shows Lopez ahead 48-44, aligning with the tight market amid national GOP momentum from favorable generic ballot trends. Early voting turnout remains high in this midterm battleground, with separation possible from late undecideds, October surprises, or shifts in swing state turnout ahead of November 5.
