Incumbent Republican Brandon Gill secured his party's nomination in the March 2026 primary with over 91 percent of the vote in Texas's 26th congressional district. The seat, covering portions of Denton and Wise counties, has leaned Republican in recent cycles, including Gill's 2024 general election victory by a 26-point margin. Democrat Steven Shook won his party's nomination but faces structural challenges in a district where Republican candidates have held consistent advantages. With the November 3, 2026 general election approaching and no major recent developments altering the partisan balance, trader consensus reflects the district's established voting patterns and limited Democratic competitiveness.
