Ramzan Kadyrov remains firmly entrenched as Head of the Chechen Republic, actively posting videos of official meetings as recently as March 25, where he appeared alongside his 18-year-old son Adam, who addressed the Security Council following accident rumors. Persistent health concerns—stemming from January reports of kidney failure and a visibly thinner public appearance on March 18—continue fueling succession speculation, with the Kremlin reportedly eyeing figures like Prime Minister Magomed Daudov or Kadyrov's sons Akhmat and Adam. Kadyrov has reaffirmed his intent to run in 2026 elections as his term nears expiration, underscoring personalized governance risks amid Moscow's North Caucasus stability priorities. Traders monitor for health updates, family promotions, or electoral shifts that could trigger leadership change.
