Trader consensus on Polymarket prices a 47% implied probability for Eurozone annual HICP inflation exceeding 3.1% in 2026, reflecting the sharp March flash estimate surge to 2.5% year-over-year—up from February's 1.9%—driven primarily by energy prices amid escalating Middle East tensions, including the Iran conflict. ECB staff projections from the March 19 meeting revised the 2026 headline average upward to 2.6% from 1.9%, citing persistent energy shocks, while core inflation (excluding energy and food) holds at a subdued 2.3%; this positions 2.8-3.0% (22%) and 2.2-2.4% (15%) as secondary outcomes amid sticky services pressures. Full March data releases April 16, with April flash eyed end-month ahead of potential ECB policy recalibration.
