This market will resolve according to the winner of the Republican Primary for Governor of Maryland, scheduled to take place on June 23, 2026. Resolution will be based on the overall winner of the primary, including any potential second round or run-off. If no 2026 Maryland Gubernatorial Republican Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first official announcement of the results from the Maryland Republican Party; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Trader consensus positions Dan Cox as the frontrunner at 58.5% implied probability in the Maryland Republican gubernatorial primary, driven by his name recognition as the 2022 nominee and sustained grassroots momentum, including recent social media campaigns surpassing 2 million views highlighting critiques of incumbent Gov. Wes Moore's approval ratings. Ed Hale holds second at 32.6%, gaining from his February announcement of a lieutenant governor running mate, Tyrone Keys, recent policy pushes on energy costs during the legislative session, and outreach to local sheriffs for endorsements as a fiscally conservative businessman. Both leaders skipped the first GOP debate in late March amid a crowded field of over 10 candidates, fragmenting support ahead of early voting on June 11 and the June 23 primary.
