OpenAI's $852 billion post-money valuation from a landmark $122 billion funding round closed March 31 anchors trader sentiment, reflecting explosive revenue growth to over $25 billion annualized amid booming AI adoption, with enterprise now comprising 40% of sales. Yet heavy cash burn—$8 billion losses in 2025 and $14 billion projected for 2026 on massive compute investments—raises profitability red flags for public markets. CFO Sarah Friar signaled IPO preparations via retail share allocation but highlighted internal tensions over an aggressive Q4 2026 timeline versus CEO Sam Altman's push. Key catalysts include potential S-1 filing in H2 2026, regulatory scrutiny, and broader tech sector multiples.
