In California's 26th congressional district, the retirement of longtime Democratic incumbent Julia Brownley has created an open seat in a district with established Democratic voter registration advantages and consistent election results favoring the party. Multiple Democratic candidates, including state Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, have entered the June 2 top-two primary, strengthening the party's position ahead of the November general election. Traders reflect this through overwhelming consensus for a Democratic outcome. A Republican victory would require an unexpected primary surprise or sharp shifts in turnout and candidate quality that have not materialized in recent cycles for this Ventura County area.
