OpenAI's record-breaking $122 billion funding round, closed March 31 at an $852 billion post-money valuation—the largest in Silicon Valley history—has fueled trader optimism for a blockbuster IPO targeted in the second half of 2026, potentially rivaling the biggest U.S. listings ever. This influx, including $3 billion from retail investors via secondary access, reflects surging AI demand and commitments from backers like Amazon, despite Microsoft tensions flagged as a risk factor. Fundamentals show 2026 revenue estimates at $25 billion clashing with $19 billion cash burn, extending profitability beyond 2030 amid Anthropic rivalry. Upcoming catalysts: S-1 filing, roadshow timeline, and revenue disclosures shaping market cap multiples at listing.
