This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Ohio. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Ohio, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The closely contested Ohio Senate race between Republican incumbent Jon Husted and Democrat Sherrod Brown, polling within a few points of a tie as of mid-September 2026, anchors trader expectations for total votes cast on November 3. Roughly 8 million registered voters in the battleground state face a special election shaped by inflation and affordability concerns that have sustained engagement on both sides, alongside Democratic primary turnout gains among unaffiliated voters in May. Older voters, motivated by Social Security and healthcare issues, add to likely-voter mobilization, while early voting patterns and union outreach further support mid-range projections clustered around 4.5–4.8 million ballots. Developments such as intensified campaign spending, shifts in independent support, or changes in national generic ballot trends could widen or narrow the distribution by altering differential turnout.
