This market will resolve according to the individual who is announced as the next head coach of the Men’s Basketball team at the University of North Carolina. Interim coaches will not qualify. If no new coach is named by November 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market is official information from the University of North Carolina; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Trader consensus on Polymarket reflects a fluid UNC Tar Heels head coaching search following Hubert Davis's March 24 firing after an early NCAA Tournament exit, with Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan leading at 50.5% implied probability due to his two Florida national titles, NBA pedigree, and reported openness to a blue-blood return amid NIL wealth and ACC recruiting advantages. UConn's Dan Hurley trails closely at 43%, buoyed by back-to-back championships and transfer portal success, while Texas Tech's Grant McCasland (41%), Florida's Todd Golden (40%), Baylor's Scott Drew (40%), Vanderbilt's Mark Byington (39.5%), Iowa State's T.J. Otzelberger (39%), and Celtics executive Brad Stevens (39%) cluster tightly, as Tommy Lloyd's recent Arizona extension rejection keeps the race chaotic with high buyouts and job stability deterring commitments.
