The primary resolution source will be the official results published by the PGA Tour website (https://www.pgatour.com/).The 2026 Valero Texas Open first round at TPC San Antonio's Oaks Course is underway following a weather delay due to thunderstorms and lightning, with Tony Finau leading at 6-under and players like Davis Thompson, Tommy Fleetwood, and Maverick McNealy in contention. Collin Morikawa's withdrawal Tuesday from lingering back spasms removed a top favorite, while alternates like Taylor Moore filled spots vacated by others including Pierceson Coody and Nicolai Hojgaard. Course history favors ball-strikers such as past winners Corey Conners (two titles) and Jordan Spieth amid windy, firm conditions; top-20 positioning remains fluid with three rounds left, hinging on strokes gained approach and putting before the Masters tune-up cut line. Will Zalatoris continues his injury comeback in a strong field chasing FedExCup points.
