Former President Rumen Radev leads trader consensus at 70.5% to become Bulgaria's next prime minister following the April 19 snap parliamentary elections, fueled by his Progressive Bulgaria alliance topping recent polls at 27-30% amid voter fatigue with corruption and oligarchic influence after eight votes in five years. Radev resigned the presidency in January 2026 to launch this anti-establishment platform, maintaining a consistent edge over GERB-SDS and others in proportional representation contests. Assen Vassilev of We Continue the Change trails at around 13% in surveys but holds 19.8% odds due to signals of potential coalition partnership for judicial reform. Caretaker PM Andrey Gyurov's 8.5% reflects low prospects for extension post-election, with exploratory mandates and coalition negotiations pivotal.
