This market will resolve to “Yes” if any orbital data center is successfully launched by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. “Orbital data center” refers to any spacecraft, satellite, or equivalent technology carrying computing infrastructure that is launched into Earth’s orbit for the purpose of providing data-center, cloud-computing, or artificial intelligence computing services and which includes at least 100 data-center-grade AI accelerators, GPUs, TPUs, or substantially equivalent compute processors, (e.g. NVIDIA H100 GPUs, Google TPUs, or equivalent or successor chips). “Successfully launched” refers to any launch which successfully places a qualifying orbital data center into Earth’s orbit. The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.Major players are accelerating orbital AI infrastructure efforts amid terrestrial power and cooling constraints for large language models. SpaceX and xAI filed in January 2026 for up to one million data-center satellites after their February merger, targeting massive solar-powered compute capacity. Google’s Project Suncatcher, announced November 2025 with Planet Labs, plans prototype TPU-equipped satellites for 2027 testing, while Starcloud demonstrated in-orbit training on NVIDIA H100 hardware and targets a scaled Starcloud-2 launch later in 2026. NVIDIA is advancing radiation-tolerant modules for space AI workloads. Traders weigh these filings, successful small-scale proofs of concept, and Musk’s cost-parity claims against engineering hurdles like inter-satellite links and launch economics; key near-term catalysts include FCC reviews, additional prototype deployments, and potential hyperscaler partnerships.
