Trey Mullinax and Ryo Hisatsune top the leaderboard after a birdie-filled opening round at the Texas Children's Houston Open on Memorial Park's softened greens, with Mullinax firing a course-record-tying 63 (-7) and Hisatsune close behind at -6 via elite strokes gained approach play. Trader consensus reflects this tight race, pricing both above 44% implied probability amid a bunched top 10 within three shots, fueled by calm winds and minimal rough penalties enabling low scores from mid-tier field players like Cam Davis and Beau Hossler. Established stars Tony Finau and Sam Burns lag after even-par starts, underscoring the wide-open dynamics where weekend volatility, course history, and putting prowess will decide the winner.
