OpenAI's private valuation reached $157 billion post-money in its October 2024 funding round led by Thrive Capital, reflecting explosive revenue growth to an estimated $3.7 billion annualized run-rate amid surging demand for ChatGPT and advanced models like o1-preview. Trader sentiment on Polymarket hinges on the absence of any S-1 filing or official IPO timeline, with CEO Sam Altman signaling a public listing "at some point" post-profitability expected in 2025. Key drivers include competitive pressures from Anthropic and Google, regulatory scrutiny over AI safety, and broader tech market dynamics with Nasdaq volatility; upcoming catalysts feature potential GPT-5 launch and restructuring completion, which could influence debut pricing against historical AI IPO precedents like Arm's $55 billion valuation. Markets imply uncertainty in equating private marks to public closing market cap amid dilution risks and lock-up dynamics.

If no IPO occurs by December 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “No”.
Market capitalization is defined as the total number of outstanding shares multiplied by the closing share price on the first trading day.
Resolution will be based on the primary exchange’s official listing page. In the event that the relevant figure is not displayed, another reliable source will be used.
In the event of an interruption in the course of the normal trading session on OpenAI's first day of trading (e.g., a circuit breaker or half-day), the market will resolve according to the official closing price of the abbreviated session. If no such official closing price is published, the market will resolve according to the next trading day on which an official closing price is published, treating that as the first day of trading.
