Trader consensus overwhelmingly favors BTS's "Arirang" first-week album sales falling under 3 million units at 99.6% implied probability, driven by the group's ongoing hiatus amid mandatory military service for all members—only Jin, J-Hope, and Suga have discharged as of late 2024, with full reunion not expected until mid-2025. No official announcement or promotional rollout for an "Arirang" album has materialized from HYBE or Big Hit Music, despite fan speculation around potential compilations or specials tied to the traditional Korean folk song BTS has performed. Historical precedents like Proof's 2.18 million first-week sales (2022) underscore diminished momentum without new group material, amplified by solo projects dominating recent K-pop sales charts. An upset would require a shock pre-holiday release with massive pre-order surges, rivaling past BTS debuts, though proximity to year-end chart locks makes this improbable absent breaking news.
