This market will resolve to “Yes” if any bill, measure, or resolution that requires proof of U.S. citizenship as a condition for registering to vote or to vote in U.S. federal elections is passed by both chambers of the U.S. Congress and signed into law, or is otherwise enacted into U.S. federal law, by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Examples of qualifying legislation include H.R. 22, the “SAVE Act,” and H.R. 7296, the “SAVE America Act.” The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the government of the United States; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**The SAVE Act**, requiring documentary proof of U.S. citizenship for voter registration under the National Voter Registration Act, passed the House as H.R. 22 in April 2025 (220-208) and a revised SAVE America Act version in February 2026, but stalls in the Senate facing a Democratic filibuster without 60 votes for cloture. President Trump signed an executive order on March 31 directing agencies like DHS to create verified citizen voter lists nationwide, circumventing congressional gridlock. Recent state-level adoptions in Florida and Mississippi underscore momentum for citizenship verification, while federal passage hinges on GOP discharge efforts or bipartisan shifts ahead of 2026 midterms. Traders assess low enactment odds given historical filibuster patterns and partisan divides on election administration.
