Recent rain likely mixing with snow on March 30 has reinforced this cool pattern following mid-March's atmospheric river snowfall, keeping temperatures well below the April 1 climatological average of 56°F despite NOAA's warmer spring outlook. Differentiating factors include model spread on marine stratus persistence versus afternoon clearing and light offshore flow—persistent clouds favor sub-49°F outcomes, while sunnier breaks tip toward 51°F. Watch evening model runs and NWS updates for refinements ahead of resolution.
