Fierce holdover competition from Ryan Gosling's "Project Hail Mary" ($53 million second weekend) and genre rival "Ready or Not 2" sapped presales and audience demos, despite solid 79% Rotten Tomatoes audience score buoying word-of-mouth potential. Decent 66% critics' rating praises Beetz's fierce performance amid stylish gore, but repetitive structure limits breakout appeal. An upset requires a 2.5x+ Saturday-Sunday multiplier from horror fan turnout, though final tallies Monday favor the low end.
