This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 MLS Defender of the Year award. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLS rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLS season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026 ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Soccer; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Trader consensus reflects an exceptionally tight race for MLS Defender of the Year with Andrew Privett, Yeimar Gómez Andrade, Matt Miazga, Miles Robinson, and others clustered at 40-42% implied probabilities, as only 5-6 early-season matches have yielded no dominant defensive standout. Privett has anchored Charlotte FC's backline through 135 minutes amid Kristijan Kahlina's league-leading 30 saves, while Yeimar recovered from a March hamstring tweak to aid Seattle Sounders' four clean sheets behind Andrew Thomas. Miazga remains pivotal for FC Cincinnati's title push, Robinson bolsters Atlanta United alongside Stian Gregersen, and Vancouver's Ranko Veselinović builds on 2025 winner Tristan Blackmon's legacy. Minimal separation in blocks, interceptions, or team table positions underscores the competitive parity among playoff-caliber center backs.
