Michael Kim's bogey-free 63 propelled him to 7-under lead after Round 1 at the Texas Children's Houston Open on the soft, birdie-friendly Memorial Park Golf Course, with Ryo Hisatsune's 64 placing him one stroke back and a cluster including Cam Davis, Seong-Hyeon Kim, Henry Lebioda, and Kyoung-Hoon Lee at 5-under, keeping trader consensus tightly bunched around 35-40% implied probabilities for top outcomes. Round 2 play was suspended due to darkness and resumes Friday morning, leaving ample volatility in a 156-player field where low scores have proliferated amid favorable conditions. Historical course trends show late leaders often emerge, underscoring the competitive dynamics and upset potential for mid-pack challengers like JT Poston and Matt McCarty.
