Ukraine's constitution prohibits presidential and parliamentary elections during martial law, which the Verkhovna Rada extended for 90 days until May 4, 2026, in a January 14 vote signed by President Zelenskyy amid the ongoing Russian invasion. Zelenskyy's term and the Rada's mandate have been automatically prolonged under Articles 83 and 108 since 2022, prioritizing national security and governance continuity. Recent U.S. pressure from President Trump has spurred discussions of potential votes by mid-May if ceasefire guarantees are secured, though officials stress no polls can proceed without lifting martial law. Traders eye the early May extension vote, peace negotiation progress, and security developments as key catalysts for any shift.

This market is based on whether national elections are actually held in Ukraine within the specified dates. Merely scheduling an election will not be sufficient to resolve this market to "Yes".
If elections are officially scheduled for a date outside this market's timeframe, this market will immediately resolve to "No".
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the government of Ukraine; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
