This market will resolve to "Yes" if the "Total cancellations within, into, or out of the United States yesterday" figure on FlightAware is greater than 500 when it is checked at 12:00 PM ET on the day after March 30, 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market is https://www.flightaware.com/live/cancelled/yesterday, specifically the "Total cancellations within, into, or out of the United States yesterday" figure on the "FlightAware.com live flight delay and cancellation statistics for yesterday" table when checked at the specified time. If the resolution source becomes permanently unavailable, or is otherwise unavailable at the resolution time up until 6 PM ET on that date, market will resolve to "No".Trader consensus slightly favors no more than 500 US flight cancellations on March 30, reflecting recovery from mid-March's North American blizzard that grounded thousands amid snow, high winds, and thunderstorms at hubs like Chicago O'Hare and Atlanta. With no major storm system forecast per FAA outlooks—noting only potential high winds in New York and Philadelphia alongside thunderstorms in Chicago—baseline cancellation rates around 100-300 persist amid high spring break volumes. However, the ongoing partial government shutdown exacerbates TSA staffing shortages, doubling absences and fueling delays that could cascade into cancellations if quits accelerate or unexpected weather emerges, maintaining the tight 51% "No" balance. FAA ground stops or airline waivers would signal tipping risks.
