Trader consensus favors Caroline Elliott at 40.5% in the B.C. Conservative Party leadership race, reflecting her narrow lead in the March Mainstreet poll of party members (21.2% vs. Peter Milobar's 20.8%) and high-profile endorsements from former Premier Gordon Campbell and ex-Alberta Premier Jason Kenney, appealing to voters seeking to unite former BC United supporters. Milobar holds 28% on strong caucus backing—eight sitting MLAs, the most in the field—and a recent April poll positioning him as the only candidate polling a majority against NDP Premier David Eby. Iain Black's 19.4% share has risen amid his April 8 debate participation (unlike absent frontrunners) and MLA endorsements, while others trail amid Warren Hamm's April 12 withdrawal endorsing Yuri Fulmer. Membership deadline today (April 18) precedes May 9–30 preferential voting for the May 30 selection.
