Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is finalized for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Latest National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard guidance clusters peak temperatures at Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX) around 70-73°F on March 28, fueling the tight trader split between 70-71°F (34% implied probability) and 72-73°F (35%), as persistent coastal marine layer—nighttime stratus clouds advected inland by moderate onshore flow—caps daytime heating while allowing partial afternoon burn-off. This setup follows the mid-March historic heat wave's collapse, when an amplified upper ridge drove record 90°F+ highs downtown; now, a weakening ridge and cool sea surface temperatures sustain the stratus deck, keeping coastal sites like KLAX 5-10°F cooler than inland valleys. Model ensembles (GFS, ECMWF) show minor spread in cloud persistence and wind shear, with resolution hinging on real-time observations through sunset at 7:10 PM PDT.
