Round 1 of the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio's demanding Oaks Course stands suspended due to darkness, with Mark Hubbard leading at 7-under and a strong T2 group at 6-under including Robert MacIntyre and Tony Finau, yet trader consensus prices a tight cluster of mid-pack contenders like Zach Bauchou (T15 at 4-under), A.J. Ewart (T31 at 3-under through 14), Max McGreevy (-1), J.T. Poston (even), and peers around 25% implied probability each. This reflects golf's volatility across 54 remaining holes on a wind-exposed Bermuda layout favoring precise iron play and scrambling, where journeymen with recent Korn Ferry momentum or Texas course history hold upset potential amid a 144-player field chasing the final Masters invitation. Big names like Ludvig Aberg and Tommy Fleetwood (both T7 at 5-under) trail in pricing due to load management ahead of Augusta.
